Communicating Curriculum Standards with Non-English Speaking Students

The United States has set some standards in public schools in terms of the skills and knowledge that students need to acquire at each level. Called “the Common Core State Standards”, this initiative lays out the expectations that each school should have of its students. This academic guideline has been translated by educators who provide document translation services. The Spanish version is already available online for students, parents, and teachers. The goal of this project is to ensure consistency in education from school to school. In California twenty five percent of students who start school need to learn the English language.

Translating the standards into other languages is a great way for educators to reach out to non-English speaking students and their families. By translating such documents into different languages academic institutions can clearly communicate their standards with non-English speakers in the community. Without translation services schools could not reach out to foreigners and inform them of their guidelines. So far only the English-language arts section of The Common core State Standards has been translated. Moving forward, schools are very likely to translate the standards for mathematics as well. At California Center for Translation & Interpretation we provide academic document translation services. We have translators who are specialized in the field of education and are very well qualified to translate such documents.

If you are looking for a version of these standards in your native language you can simply submit the original version of the document to us, and we will prepare the translation for you. Our specialists are focused on customer service and do their best to answer your questions in a professional and helpful manner. Additional information about our services and the languages we cover is available on our main pages.
