Sadi Day Marks the Opening of Sadi Foundation

Over the past decade Iranians have aggressively tried to promote their language and literature at home and abroad. Their rich literature has drawn the attention of many people in different cultures worldwide. As a matter of fact, Dick Davis who provides professional Persian translation services has translated pieces such as the “Shahnameh” into English for non-Farsi speakers. His approach in translation is considered very unique as he combines poetry and prose. Moreover, in April 2013 a Persian language foundation named Sadi was set up in Tehran. This establishment’s goal is to promote the Farsi language and literary works in Iran as well as in other countries.

For a long time the task of teaching the Persian language and culture in foreign countries was assigned to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization. Now Sadi, which is supposed to be more organized, will take on the role. According to the Sadi director, from now on ICRO’s other functions will be transferred to Sadi. Although the foundation has many programs planned for non-Persian speaking countries it will give priority to countries whose official language is Farsi. As their activities expand they will start gearing their programs towards non-Farsi speaking communities. California Center for Translation & Interpretation can produce English translations that are just as clear and powerful as the original Farsi text. We provide Persian translation services for many types of documents.

Those who cannot read Farsi but still would like to read Persian literature can pick out any work and have us translate it into their native tongue. Professional Persian translation is not only necessary for large organizations that try to promote the Persian language outside of the Farsi-speaking world, but it is also for anyone who wishes to communicate to people across cultures or understand their literature.
